Liquid limestone finishes in Bunbury and the South West

Liquid limestone finish around a pool

Clutch Construction applies liquid limestone around pools, on patios and on driveways in Bunbury and the South West of Western Australia. It gives the look of natural limestone over a concrete base.

How it works

Liquid limestone is a pigmented, cement-based surface applied over a prepared concrete slab and finished by hand. The slab has to be sound and clean first, so we start with inspection and preparation. The surface is then applied, finished and sealed. Lighter colours reflect more heat than dark paving, which is useful around a pool.

Around the pool

Pool surrounds are where we see the most interest. The textured finish gives grip when wet, and the colour sits well against water and gardens. If the existing slab has movement or cracks, we tell you before we start, because those can come through any surface laid over them.

Driveways and patios

On a driveway or patio, the same sound-slab rule applies. When a new slab is going in, we can pour and finish in one program of work. Our concrete driveways page covers the base and structure.

If you are choosing between finishes

For a ground concrete look, see honed concrete, which is the other finish we suggest around pools. We are also taking enquiries from Perth for liquid limestone in Perth.

Before you start

The base decides the result. We check the slab for cracks, movement, drainage and old sealers, because they can show through or stop the surface bonding. Colour and texture are agreed with you before application. Sending photos of the area and the current surface with your enquiry saves time.

Common questions

How much does liquid limestone cost?
It depends on the area, the state of the slab beneath and the finish you choose. We quote each job after hearing the details. Photos of the existing slab help.
Is liquid limestone good around a pool?
It is a popular pool surround finish because of its textured, natural look. We talk through colour and grip with you before we start.
Can liquid limestone go on a driveway?
Yes, over a sound slab that is prepared properly. Heavy vehicle use and the condition of the base affect how we approach it.
What is the difference between liquid limestone and honed concrete?
Honed concrete is the slab itself, ground flat. Liquid limestone is a surface applied over concrete and finished by hand to look like natural limestone.
